What this covers
This policy applies to the Castwise website (https://castwise.taobowen.com) and the Castwise iOS app. Castwise generates fishing plans and can guide a trip on the water. We do not sell your personal information.
Account
If you sign in with email, phone, Google, or Apple, we receive an identifier and, when the provider shares it, your email and name. These are used to create and recover your Castwise account, store your trips and plans, and enforce web plan limits. The same Cognito user can use both the website and the app.
Location and on-water sessions
The app may collect precise location while you run a fishing session, including in the background if you allow Always location, so we can navigate the plan and record your track. Location is not required to generate a plan on the website. You can deny or later revoke location access in iOS Settings; navigation and track features will be limited.
Catches and photos
If you log a catch, we store the event, optional notes, and an optional photo you choose to attach. Photos are stored so you can review the session. A failed photo upload does not delete the catch record.
Plans, tactics, and feedback
Generated plans include lake, time window, route, and tactical suggestions. If you mark how a stop went — for example worked, skipped, or fish on — we may keep that feedback to improve Castwise models and future recommendations. Feedback is tied to your account and trip context, not sold to data brokers.
Processors
We use Amazon Web Services (hosting, Cognito sign-in, file storage), Mapbox (maps), and model providers to generate plans and tactics. Those processors see only what is needed to provide the service.
Retention and your choices
We keep account, trip, and session records while your account is active and as needed to operate the product. To request access, correction, or deletion, email tbw19990315@gmail.com. You can also sign out and revoke Google or Apple access from those providers.
Children
Castwise is not directed at children under 13. Do not create an account if you are under 13.
